Jeremy Keck was a beloved son, brother, husband, and father whose life was tragically cut short when he passed away suddenly on September 2, 2020, at the age of 37.

Jeremy, the son of Jeff and Terri Keck, was born with a complex congenital heart defect and underwent his first open-heart surgery at 4 months old. Throughout his childhood, he endured numerous surgeries, procedures, and hospital stays, and the game of golf became an outlet for him. Jeremy picked up a golf club at the age of 6 and never looked back.

The game of golf profoundly impacted him, creating a special place in his heart and purpose in life. Throughout his teenage years, Jeremy participated in many JGAA and AJGA events which helped him develop a skill set to become a scratch golfer focusing on an excellent short game.

Though he faced significant health challenges, Jeremy’s fierce resilience carried him through the tough times. His zest for life could not be dampened, and he did more in his 37 years than many people do in an entire lifetime.

Jeremy graduated from Arizona State University’s W. P. Carey School of Business with honors and went on to a successful career in the construction industry, where his colleagues and peers widely admired him. In addition, he was involved in several professional organizations and was active in the community, serving as a member of the philanthropic organization Scottsdale 20/30 Club. As an accomplished golfer, he loved to travel around the world to test his skills on different courses.

Most of all, Jeremy was devoted to his family and friends, especially Ana and their daughters, Emilee and Kaylee, who were the apple of his eye. He touched many lives during his too-short lifetime, leaving a legacy of joy in the hearts of those who knew him.

To celebrate Jeremy’s life, his family and friends have established a golf tournament in his name. The KeckStrong Classic will take place each year on or around Jeremy’s birthday, March 15, and all proceeds will go directly to the Jeremy J. Keck Legacy Fund (a 501c3 foundation). Jeremy had a passion for helping others, and proceeds will be used to continue to pay this passion forward. He held a special place in his heart for sick children, underprivileged children, and education. The Jeremy J. Keck Legacy hopes that Jeremy’s story will inspire other children to turn to golf as an outlet to help them persevere through hard times.

In addition to supporting various children’s charities, the foundation will award scholarships to students continuing education in the field of Construction.
